3. Select sensitivity
The detector always hopes that the sensitivity of the detector is very
high. However, in the higher sensitivity range, the detector is very
sensitive to electromagnetic interference from nearby power lines or
cables, and it also reacts abnormally to mineralization or conductivity in
the soil. If you move the probe in a place where there is no metal in the
detection area, the detector often sends out unstable false signals,
please reduce the sensitivity.
If you and your partner turn on the detector at the same time, please
keep a distance of more than 10 meters and reduce the sensitivity
appropriately.
4. Move the search coil
During the detection, the search coil should be moved at a uniform
speed, do not go fast and slow. The search coil is parallel to the ground
and remains about an inch, not swinging high and low above the ground
like a pendulum. (see graph 18)
graph 18
Scan the coil from one side to another at about 3 feet (1 m) per second.
Also, push slowly forward with about half the search coil diameter each
time to ensure that the search coil scanned the detected ground
without any omissions. It was wrong to shake the search coil above the
ground. (see graph 19)
