Mixing synthetic and mineral oil can dam-
age the compressor!
2.6.6 Check screw fittings
1. Check all screw connections for tight fit
and retighten if necessary.
2. Observe the tightening torques (tighten-
ing torques calculated according to VDI
2230).
2.6.7 Clean intake filter
See Part 1 of the Instruction Manual.
Do not purge the intake opening. No for-
eign objects may enter.
Never operate the compressor without an
intake filter.
2.6.8 Clean the silencer insert
On compressors with a silencer:
See instruction manual, part 1.
2.6.9 Checking, setting and ad-
justing the V-belt tension
Preparation:
1. Switch off the compressor at the ON/OFF
switch.
2. Interrupt the power supply to the main
switch.
3. Turn all mounting plugs 45° and remove,
then take off the belt guard grating.
Checking V-belt tension:
Press down on the V-belt at the top halfway
between the V-belt disc and the fan wheel
using your thumb. The belt should not give
more than the width of the V-belt. (Fig. 7a)
Setting/Adjusting V-belt tension:
See instruction manual, part 1.
2.6.10 Cleaning/replacing the
check valve
1. Unscrew the locking screw. (Figure 3a)
2. Clean the insert and seat.
3. Replace the insert in case of damage,
squeezing or hardening.
4. If the seat is damaged, replace the entire
check valve.
2.6.11 Replacing the safety valve
1. Switch off the compressor. Unplug the
power plug.
2. Apply Loctite® 243 to the thread of the
new safety valve or wind Teflon tape
around the valve.
3. Screw the new safety valve into place by
screwing it clockwise.

Decommissioning

Observe the safety instructions!
2.7.1 Preservation
If the compressor is taken out of service for
a long period (over 6 months) or is new from
the factory and will not be operated until
much later.
1. Switch off the compressor. Unplug the
power plug.
2. Switch off the compressor at the ON/OFF
switch.
3. Interrupt the power supply to the main
switch.
1. Allow the oil to drain. (see Chap. 2.6.5)
2. Fill corrosion inhibiting oil (viscosity SAE
30).
3. Insert the oil filler plug or oil dipstick.
4. Allow the compressor to warm up, switch
it off.
5. Remove intake filter. Fill a small quantity
of corrosion inhibiting oil into the intake
openings. Allow the corrosion inhibiting
oil to drain.
6. Refit intake filter, seal watertight with
Scotch tape.
7. Drain condensate.
8. Depressurise the compressor.
Store the compressor dry and do not subject
it to large temperature fluctuations.
2.7.2 Disposal
Dispose of the unit and packaging materials
according to applicable regulations.
