The pump DC Runner 1.1 is operated by an electronic safety transformer at AC 110 – 240 V / 50 – 60 Hz and
24 V DC output. Power consumption of the pump is 8 watts, protection rating is IP X8. To open the pump,
remove retaining plate and release the pump head (Fig. 2, No. 9) by turning it.

power can be adjusted by pressing the +/- buttons, the level is displayed by LED. If you press the button
„FEED", the output will stop for 10 minutes.
There is an automatic shut off if there is no water for 2 minutes. Pull the plug and then re-insert it to take the
controller back into operation. Controller, plugs and sockets have to be kept dry.
0 - 10 V: The pumps must be operated with at least 60% power, otherwise damage will occur. When inserting
the plug into the 0 - 10 V socket (Pict. 3, No. 4) it will be switched to 0 – 10 V automatically, this will be
indicated by two lit LEDs.

3. Theory
Protein skimming is a method of physical water treatment. It uses a phenomenon known from our daily
experience: the adhesion of surface active substances to air water layers. If we add a drop of oil to a water
surface, a thin film is produced with a thickness of only one molecule. Surface active compounds like proteins
behave in the same way. The EVO 1000 uses its air bubbles to create a large water surface for the waste
substances to attach themselves to. These air bubbles are forced into the reactor-pipe in such a way that they
