5.3
Installing the flange heater
In addition to the legal national regulations, the user must also comply with the connection requirements of the local power and water supply companies.
1.
Remove dust cap (item 1).
2.
Install heating flange (item 2) with seal (item 3) in the boiler. During installation, make sure that the thermo controller's sensor protection tube is above
the tubular heating elements (see installation instructions).

Fix heating flange (item 2) with M12 flange screws (max. torque 22 Nm). Tighten flange screws in a crosswise sequence. Check heater screws and, if re-
quired, tighten again with a torque of 2 to 3 Nm.

Connect electrically according to circuit diagram (} 5.6 Electrical connection [p. 4]). Ensure that the electric cable has the appropriate strain relief.
CAUTION!
Do not forget to connect the protective earth conductor!

Replace dust cap and fasten with nut, affix the supplied control knob (item 4).
CAUTION!
The cylinder must be filled with water prior to commissioning.
CAUTION!
Installation of the heating element and initial commissioning must only be performed by a qualified technician!

Notes on corrosion protection
Enamelled cylinders must be provided with adequate anode protection on the boiler side, according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Protective anodes (sacrificial anodes) in the container should be replaced when more than 3/4 of the material is worn down (first check after approx. two
years of operation, in the case of very hard water regularly, after approx. one year at the latest).
When combining CrNi (stainless steel) cylinders or CrNi heat exchangers with installations in plastic-coated cylinders, the following measures must be taken:

Disconnect the protective current bleed resistor in order to ensure isolated heating element installation.
