CAUTION
Keep out of reach of children.
This torch is NOT designed for indoor use and may not be
used in an enclosed space.
This torch is designed to combust vapor-fuel output from an
approved propane cylinder, do not allow liquid-fuel to feed
the burner head.
Do not leave unattended.
Do not use for space heating.
Do not operate this torch before reading and understanding
all the operating instructions. Make sure product usage is in
accordance with all local, state, and federal laws.
WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals
including lead, which is known to the State Of California
to cause canser and birth defects or other reproductive
harm.
For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Wash hands after handling.
WARNING: THIS TORCH PRODUCES AN INTENSE
FLAME AND CAN CAUSE SERIOUS BODILY INJURIES OR
PROPERTY DAMAGE
Before every use check all gas fittings by using an approved
soap solution. If bubbles appear DO NOT attempt to ignite the
torch. Re-tighten all sealings and fittings and test with same
soap solution. If leaks persist have the torch serviced. Close
both valves after the leak test is completed. Inspect hoses
and connections for wear and tear.
Never attempt to modify or tamper with the torch's
construction in any way.
Always wear protective gloves, proper eye protection, leather
boots, and fire-retardant long pants. You should NEVER
operate the torch while wearing shorts or loose pieces of
clothing.
Do not point the burner head towards any body parts, other
person's body parts, flammable materials, any closed
container which can catch fire.
Never use near the presence of or where any storage of
flammable gases, vapors, or liquids have been.
Do not restrict the air flow into the burner head. The torch
head should never touch the surface that is being heated. Do
not block the flow of gas or flame through the burner head. If
blockage occurs immediately lift the torch to allow for proper
flow.
An obstructed burner head may force the flame to reverse
and exit towards the top of the torch towards the user.
To extinguish the torch, turn the torch control knob clockwise
until the flame extinguishes then close the propane cylinder
valve in the same manner. Take caution as the burner
head will remain extremely hot, never leave the torch near
anything that is flammable. Always allow time for the burner
to completely cool down before placing in storage.
With the propane cylinder valve closed slightly open the torch
valve to bleed off residual gas then shut off the torch vavle
again.
Remove hose from the cylinder with 7/8" wrench.
Cylinders should be in compliance with state or local
regulations. Never store in rooms used for habitation or near
a source of heat or ignition.
CONTROL YOUR BURNING AREA
Take caution DO NOT USE your torch in windy conditions or if
your landscape is experiencing dry conditions.
Some municipalities require permits to burn, make sure you
consult with your local authorities and inquire about the laws
in your area.
Never use the torch while alone. keep an approved NFPA
fire extinguisher that is sized according to the job you are
performing near your work area at all times.
FUMES CAN BE DANGEROUS
This torch is for outside use only, NEVER use inside.
Outside usage should always be in a well-ventilated area so
fumes, smoke, or vapors do not overtake the user. If fumes,
smoke, or vapors build up in work area stop using the torch
immediately and move to an area free from hazards.
Never use the torch on any chemicals of any kind, material
that could release toxins if heated, flammable gases or
liquids, solvents, poison ivy/oak, or products that could have
protective coatings.
Many flammable gases and liquids are heavier than air and
can collect in enclosed areas that lack proper ventilation
which can explode if ignited.
SETUP AND ASSEMBLY
The hose included is equipped with a 9/16- 18 left-handed
thread connection fitting that mates with the brass valve of
the torch and an excess flow soft nose POL fitting that mates
to your bulk cylinder.
Thread the 9/16- 18 left-handed hose end onto the torch
valve in a counterclockwise direction, tightening it with
an 11/16" wrench until it is properly seated. Thread the
excess flow soft nose POL hose end into the cylinder in a
counterclockwise rotation, tightening it with a 7/8" wrench
until properly seated. Do not over tighten fittings. Do not
place undue strain on hose.
Slowly open the propane cylinder valve and then slowly open
the torch valve. Check all gas fittings by using an approved
soap solution. If bubbles apear DO NOT attempt to ignite the
torch. Re-tighten all fittings and re-test with same solution. If
leaks persist have the torch serviced. Close both valves after
the leak test is completed.
Go outdoor to an open environment, point the burner head
away from any flammable objects or body parts.
With the torch valve closed slowly open the propane cylinder
valve.
Open the torch valve slowly approximately 1/8 to 1/4 of a
turn, you should hear gas escaping the burner head. Use a
flint spark lighter to ignite the flame. Never use matches or a
cigarette lighter to ignite the torch.
The torch features a control knob on the valve that is used
to open and close the valve. This valve is designed to be fully
open when in use. If the valve is not fully open, then the pilot
to full flame lever will not function properly. The valve also
features a lever that when depressed against the grip of the
handle changes the flame profile from a pilot flame to full
flame.
If gas flow or flame appears to be restricted, close the
propane cylinder valve, allow flame or the propane vapor to
bleed off. Wait 30 seconds and repeat steps 4-6.
The torch should not be used with less than a 20 lb. capacity
cylinder.
