If you need to change frequently from dry to wet va-
cuuming, we recommend that you have two separate
diaphragm filters, one for each application.
16. VACUUMING LIQUIDS
Never suck up inflammable or corrosive
liquids.
Do not suckup liquids if there is still dry
dust in the tank of the vacuum cleaner.
The mixture could form clumps and cause
the vacuum cleaner to break down.
Always clean out the tank before be-
ginning.
When vacuuming liquids, use a diaphragm filter and
two main filters for liquids G (Fig. 6). Ensure that these
are fitted before beginning.
Turn the liquid/dust switch D (Fig. 2) to the top position
for liquids.
The paper bag filter cannot be used to suck up liquids.
When the vacuum cleaner is full, open the lid of the
tank and empty it out carefully.
17. LIQUID LEVEL SENSOR
When the maximum liquid level is reached, the motor
cuts out automatically. In order for this device to function
correctly, the level sensors J (Fig. 8) should be kept clean,
and switch D (Fig 2) set to the position for liquids.
When you are preparing the vacuum cleaner to suck up
liquids, always clean the level sensors as well.
The automatic cut-out device only works
with liquids that conduct electricity, such
as water, but does not work with oils or
liquids that do not conduct electricity. As
such, you should check the level of liquid
in the tank frequently, when vacuuming
non-conducting liquids.
18. CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Unplug the vacuum cleaner from the mains before
carrying out any maintenance operations. Maintenance
operations must be carried out by qualified personnel
only.
In order for the vacuum cleaner to work efficiently, we
recommend that you:
• Periodically remove dust and waste matter by shaking
the filters. Clean the filter cartridges frequently with
a soft brush.
• If there is a lot of material encrusted on the filter,
change it immediately.
• It is advisable always to have a spare filter.
• Always keep the suction channels clean. (A build-up
of dirt will result in a loss of aspiration and will cause
the motor to overheat.)
• The rotating parts of the machine do not need to
be lubricated.
• It is important to keep a check on the length of the
motor brushes. Under normal usage conditions, these
should be checked every 12 months, and changed when
they are down to 9 mm in length.
