3 Operating and Safety Instructions
3.1 Qualified Personnel
Installation and maintenance of this appliance may only be carried out by trained and
authorised personnel.
3.2 Correct Use
The correct and safe operation of the product is subject to the installation, use and main-
tenance described in this Manual.
3.3 Liability Exclusion
Installation must be performed precisely in accordance with the instructions in this man-
ual. BRITA shall not be held liable for any damage, including subsequent damage, arising
from the incorrect installation or use of the product.
3.4 Specific Safety Information
The sensor housing
and the electronics cover
must never be opened.

Follow the operating instructions of the connected BRITA filter system.
Protect the appliance from sunlight and mechanical damage. Do not fit the appliance near
sources of heat or an open fire.
The components under pressure are designed for a service life of 10 years. After expiry,
the parts must be replaced.
Following long stagnation periods (2–3 days), we recommend pre-rinsing the
BRITA FlowMeter before use.
3.5 Safety Assembly Instructions
The sensor must be installed horizontally. All parts must be installed in accordance with
the country-specific regulations on the installation of drinking water facilities.

4 Installation
Before installation and use, read the technical data (Chapter 11) and the operating and
safety instructions.
Note: If a filter system is already installed, the filter cartridge must be replaced before
installing the BRITA FlowMeter. Only when installing a new filter cartridge can the correct
residual capacity be entered in the BRITA FlowMeter.
4.1 Delivery Scope
Prior to installation, remove the entire delivery scope from the packaging and check that
the following articles are present:
