1. INTRODUCTION
Card with two zone outputs for the OPTIMAX 2 system. Incorporates DSP and surveillance functions.
Allows redundancy. The different UMX-SYL cards are supervising each other, so by using two cards for one zone and two different
mainframes, the solution will be 100% compliant with the NO SINGLE POINT OF FAILURE principle.
DSP functions
Controls for volume, bass and treble through the P.A. Manager software.
Surveillance functions
Monitoring of the speaker line: The card injects different frequencies in the speaker line; it then collects and analyses these
frequencies to determine the condition of the line (line open, short-circuit, low impedance, high impedance or line in good
condition).
Monitoring of the condition of the amplifier by analysing the audio signal and by detecting the 24 VDC it receives from the
amplifier.
The card occupies a slot and can be inserted into the UMX-03/0 or UMX-03/0E units.
2. COMPONENTS
The card has 2 channels ("A" and "B"). Each channel corresponds to a different zone.
Each zone incorporates an audio output, fail and priority LED indicators, connections to
the speaker line and a FAIL output contact.
1) POWER indicator light. Power LED indicator. Do not remove the card when it is lit.
2) RJ45 connector for CHANNEL "A". +4 dB audio output, balanced using a
transformer. The output level can be adjusted through the P.A. Manager software.
RJ45 PIN OUT
Pin 1: AUDIO H (hot) output.
Pin 2: AUDIO C (cold) output.
Pin 3: +24 VDC input to monitoring the amplifier.
Pin 4: "Y" LINK (used in installations with redundancy).
Pin 5: "Y" LINK (used in installations with redundancy).
Pin 6: Priority output contact. Using jumpers and switches, this contact may be
configured as a voltage free contact or as an open collector output (see
section 3. CONFIGURATION).
Pin 7: Not used.
Pin 8:
Metal Shield:
3) CHANNEL "A". PRIORITY indicator. Indicates the activation of the priority output
contact of channel "A" (pin 6 of connector RJ45).
4) CHANNEL "A" FAIL indicator. Indicates FAIL output contact activated.
5) CHANNEL "A" LINE OUT connection. Connection terminals of the speaker line.
6) CHANNEL "A" LINE IN connection. Connection terminals to the amplifier speaker output lines.
7) CHANNEL "A" FAIL contacts. NO (Normally open) output contacts. Their activation is associated with the card surveillance
functions. P.A. Manager software is used to configure in what cases the contact is made (when high or low impedance errors
are detected in the speaker line, short-circuit, line open or amplifier error...).
Using jumpers and mini-switches, the FAIL contacts may be configured as a voltage free contact or as an open collector output
(see section 3. CONFIGURATION).
