Open the battery cover on the back of the scale unit. Insert the batteries. Be
sure that the polarity of the battery is set properly for proper function (the
polarity as indicated inside the battery compartment cover). If you do not
intend to use this unit for a long period of time, it is advisable to remove the
batteries before storage.
