OPERATION
To lock-on:
Depress the switch trigger.
Push in and hold the lock-on button, located above the
trigger.
Release the switch trigger.
Release the lock-on button and the mixer will continue
running.
To release the lock, depress and release the switch trigger.
If the lock-on feature is engaged during use and the mixer
becomes disconnected from the power supply, disengage
the lock-on feature immediately.
VARIABLE SPEED SELECTOR
See Figure 2, page 11.
The speed selection, material type, and mixing time will affect
the consistency and density of the material being mixed.
Rotate the speed selector counterclockwise to increase
speed and clockwise to decrease speed.
NOTE: The mixing speed can be set up to 800 RPMs.
INSTALLING/REMOVING PADDLE
See Figures 3 - 5, pages 11 and 12.
NOTE: This single paddle mixer is designed for use
with the included RIDGID mixing paddle only (part no.
039850001057). Do not use any paddles not recommended
by the manufacturer of this product.
Before using the paddle, one time assembly is required.
Place the threaded end of the paddle shaft into the head
and rotate clockwise to secure. Tighten securely.
To install paddle:
Unplug the mixer.
Insert the chuck key into the chuck; twist counterclockwise
to open the chuck jaws and clockwise to close.
Open or close the chuck jaws to a point where the opening
is slightly larger than the paddle size you intend to use.
Also, raise the front of the mixer slightly to keep the paddle
from falling out of the chuck jaws.
WARNING:
Make sure to insert the paddle straight into the
chuck jaws. Do not insert the paddle into the chuck
jaws at an angle then tighten, as shown in figure 5.
This could cause the paddle to be thrown from the
mixer, resulting in possible serious personal injury
or damage to the chuck.
Insert the paddle.
Tighten the chuck jaws securely on the paddle, using the
chuck key provided.
Remove the chuck key.
To remove paddle:
Unplug the mixer.
Loosen the chuck jaws using the chuck key provided.
Remove the paddle.
Remove the chuck key.
MIXING
See Figure 6, page 12.
WARNING:
Mix and prepare materials according to the
material manufacturer's instructions.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of electric shock or tool failure,
use caution to prevent liquid material from entering
the tool. If the tool falls into the material being
mixed, unplug the tool immediately and have it
checked by a qualified repair person.
Pour materials to be mixed into a suitable container.
Do not fill the container. There should be enough room
in the container to prevent spillage and reduce the risk
of the material splashing back on you or the tool during
operation.
Secure the container to keep it from turning as the paddle
rotates.
Select the appropriate speed setting for the materials you
are mixing.
NOTE: It is recommended that you begin mixing at low
speeds to ensure that wet and dry materials are evenly
mixed.
Plug the mixer into a power source.
Hold the mixer firmly with both hands and lower the
paddle into the container.
Depress the switch trigger to start mixing. Do not lock
the switch on for jobs where the mixer may need to be
stopped suddenly.
NOTE: If the mixer is sluggish or if the unit struggles to
mix the material, lower the speed setting.
Stop and start the unit intermittently during the mixing
process to allow the material to absorb moisture (or slake).
The type of material you are mixing will determine how
long and how often the material needs to slake.
When mixing is complete, stop the tool and remove the
paddle. Clean the paddle and store for later use.
