7.4 Advance control
The advance switch (7) (fig. 1) is
used to control the advance
force of the push rod. Thus,
the flow output can be continuously
controlled from "1 = slow advance" to
"6 = fast advance" electronically as a
function of the selected discharge area
at of the cartridge tip.
8 – Operation
Preparation
• Before changing the cartridge, check
to see whether the screw connection
of piston (5) and push rod is tight(4).
• Check tightness of all screw
connections of the cartridge case (6).
• Push the push rod against cartridge
bottom as described in 7.4.
• Cut the tip of the cartridge, as shown
in fig. 5, so that the opening size
corresponds to the joint width.
Switching on
Push the On/Off switch (1): The piston
will push with constant force and
according to the selected advance force
against the cartridge bottom thus causing
a uniform discharge of the sealant or
adhesive.
Stopping
Release the On/Off switch: The advance
will stop and there will be no further
material flow.

9 – Mode of operation
ATTENTION! Before beginning
with the work, check whether
the width of the cartridge tip matches
the corresponding joint width. If
required, recut (fig. 5).
• Push the push rod forward as far as it
will go (fig. 6), set release switch to
"operation" (fig. 4).
• Before starting a job, carry out a test
on a hidden area or on a piece of
reject to get the proper feeling for the
job.
• Adjust the advance control to a
advance that is appropriate for the
job and the personal work pace and
test it on a sample joint.
• Do not turn on the device before the
cartridge tip has been correctly
positioned at the joint (fig. 7).
• Depending on the material flow, move
the cartridge tip at an even pace
along the joint.
• Mask sensitive bases with tape along
the edges of the joints before the
sealing.
• After the application, smooth the
sealant according to the manufacturer's
specifications .
Remove tape away from
the joint shortly before the
sealant has completely
hardened.
• The joint may be strained only after it
has completely hardened.
