C H A R G I N G T H E
B A T T E R Y
This unit has a built-in lead acid battery. Although the Jumpstart System arrives partially charged
from the factory, it should be fully charged before first use.

Plug the AC adaptor into any 230 volt AC wall outlet and the other end into the Input Socket of
the Jumpstart System.The Charging Indicator light will illuminate to indicate the unit is charging. Full
charging will take approximately 20 hours.

Plug the DC power cord into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket and the other end into the
Input Socket of the Jumpstart System. Full charging will take approximately 11 hours.
NOTE: some vehicle's cigarette lighters and 12 volt power ports do not operate unless the
ignition switch is in het accessory position.
Check the Charging Indicator Light is illuminated indicating that charging is taking place.
NOTE: Do not continuously charge the Jumpstart System for more than 36 hours. Use only the
power cords that were provided with the Jumpstart System when charging, otherwise damage to
the unit may result.
NOTE: Keep battery power topped up, ready for emergencies. Unlike some rechargeable
batteries, frequent charging will not harm and wil in fact improve the performance of the internal
battery.
NOTE:The Jumpstart unit should never be kept in a total discharged state for an extended period
of time. Damage could be permanent with poor performance as a result. When not in use,
recharge every four (4) months with the charger.
B A T T E R Y
S T A T U S
Press and hold the Battery Test button.The Battery Power Indicator LED Lights will illuminate to
indicate the amount of charge remaining in the Jumpstart System.
When you release the button, the LED indicator lights will go out.

When the battery is fully charged, all four indicator lights will illuminate.

If only het red and yellow lights are illuminated, battery is at 50% capacity and will operate most
12 volt accessories, but inadequate for boosting function. Unit should be recharged a soon as
possible.
3.
When only the red indicator light is illuminated the battery is low and must be recharged before
further use.
