3. FUNCTIONING
Once the smoke detector is installed, a red light diode should flash. If smoke is detected, the device will trigger
the alarm until the air clears. If the detector is not working properly, all of the instructions in this user guide should
be referred to.
4. TEST BUTTON
It is recommended that you test your smoke detector once a week (or after a long absence) to ensure that it is
working properly.
Press and hold the "test" button for approximately 3 seconds. The alarm should sound, and the red light diode will
flash rapidly to indicate that the device is working properly.
5. REPLACEMENT OF THE BATTERY, CLEANING THE SMOKE DETECTOR
If the detector emits a short "beep", this means that the battery level is low. They need to be replaced immedia-
tely. A new battery lasts for approximately one year. For added safety, the batteries should be replaced every year.
The red light flashes each minute to show that the device is on standby. If it no longer flashes: the batteries need
to be replaced. Please follow polarity when changing them.
WARNING : WE RECOMMEND THE USE OF NON-RECHARGEABLE 3V LITHIUM BATTERIES (the power remains
stable until the battery is depleted, whereas with rechargeable batteries, no warning is received when it is time to
recharge them). Continued exposure to high or low temperatures or a high humidity level can reduce the battery
life.
After changing the batteries, a test must be done to check whether the device is working. (see point 4)
Clean your smoke detector regularly to prevent the accumulation of dust, using a vacuum cleaner.
6. IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS
Installing a smoke detector is only the first step in your fire safety plan: they serve as a warning device.
