Checking and replacing the spark plug

For good performance, the spark plug should be clean and properly gapped between the electrodes.
There are several factors that can influence the operation of the spark plug: incorrect carburetor tuning and fuel
mixture, and dirty air filter. These factors cause accumulations on the spark plug electrodes, leading to operating
problems and start-up difficulties.
If the lawn mower's power is low or has difficulty starting, check the spark plug before carrying out any further
checks.
1. Remove the spark plug cap, unscrew the spark plug with the supplied key and check that it is clean. If it is dirty
remove the soot with a brush;
2. If the spark plug is "wet" with excess fuel, place a clean cloth over the spark plug hole and pull the start-up
handle several times with the spark plug removed;
3. Measure the distance between the electrodes with a suitable tool. The distance must be between 0.7-0.8 mm.
If necessary, fold the electrode until the appropriate slack is reached;
4. Place the spark plug by hand to avoid damage to the thread and screw it, in order to compress the sealing
washer using the key provided;
5. If the spark plug does not spark when starting, replace it;
The loose spark plug may overheat and cause engine damage.
Always use the type of spark plug recommended by the manufacturer. The use of an incorrect spark plug may
damage the cylinder.
