manufacturer has conducted a thorough inspection of the equipment and
has agreed to the re-use of the equipment.
25) If the product has been used to stop a fall, it must be removed from service
and disposed of (physically destroyed).
26) The anchor point or device for fall protection equipment shall be of a stable
design and location that limits the potential for a fall and minimizes the
length of free fall. The equipment anchor point shall be located above the
user's work station. The shape and design of the equipment anchor point
must provide a permanent connection for the equipment and must not
result in accidental or spontaneous disconnection. The use of certified and
marked equipment anchor points is recommended. There should be no
obstruction between the anchor point and the user's position.
27) Checking the clearance under the work station where fall protection
equipment will be used to avoid hitting objects or a lower plane during fall
arrest (minimum 3 meters of clearance) is mandatory.
28) When using the equipment, pay particular attention to dangerous
phenomena affecting the operation of the equipment and the safety of the
user, in particular: looping and sliding of ropes on sharp edges, swinging
falls, current conduction, any damage such as cuts, abrasions, corrosion,
exposure to extreme temperatures, negative effects of climatic factors;
exposure to caustic substances, chemicals, solvents or acids.
29) Before each use, the person who intends to use the device should carry out
a thorough visual inspection of the components of the mechanism: housing,
safety hook, handle, and rope along the entire length for mechanical,
chemical and heat damage. The user should check the operation of the
unwinding mechanism by dynamically pulling the working rope. The rope
should be locked without being pulled out. After releasing the rope, the
unwinding mechanism should retract the rope. The inspection should be
carried out by the operator of the machine. If there is any damage or doubt
about the proper condition of the device, do not use it.
30) During use, the device should be protected against contact with oils, acids,
solvents, alkalis, open flames, metal spatter and sharp edges. Avoid using
the device in dusty and greasy environments.
31) When working on building structures, avoid situations in which the rope will
move between individual structural elements.
32) The device provides protection for one person only!
33) Personal protective equipment is personal equipment and should only be
used by one person.
34) A rescue plan must be prepared which can be used if necessary.
