Method of Operation
3.1
Assemble the mask as shown in the construction and assembly figure (See Section 2.0)
3.2
The power supply
The power supply of the WHB1000 helmet is provided by 2 solar cells and one non-replaceable CR2450 Battery. Turning
the helmet on or off is automatically controlled by the circuit.
3.3
Darkness selection
Striking the arc, the observing window darkens immediately. At this moment, according to the technical requirements, the
operator can adjust the darkness "knob" 6 in the direction as shown by the arrow to select the optimum darkness.
3.4
Delay time Selection
By moving the DELAY selector knob 10 on the rear of the cartridge, the time taken for the lens to lighten after welding can
be altered.
Turn to FAST: The time the lens lightens after welding is about 0.1 seconds depending upon welding point temperature
and shade setting. This setting is ideal for track welding or production welding with short welds.
Turn to MEDIUM: The time the lens lightens after welding is about 0.5 seconds depending upon welding point
temperature and shade set.
Turn SLOW: The time the lens lightens after welding is about 0.9 seconds depending upon welding point temperate and
shade setting. This setting is ideal for welding at high amperage.
3.5
Sensitivity Selection
By moving the SENSITIVITY selector knob 9 on the rear of the cartridge, the sensitivity to ambient light changes can be
altered.
Turn to LOW: The photo sensitivity changes to be lower. Suitable for high amperage welding and welding in bright light
conditions such as Sunlight.
Turn to MEDIUM: The photo sensitivity changes to medium. Suitable for medium amperage welding and welding in
medium light conditions.
Turn to HIGH: The photo sensitivity changes to be higher. Suitable for low amperage welding and using in poor light
conditions. Suitable for using with steady arc process such as TIG welding.
3.6
Grind Selection
Turn shade adjusting knob anti-clockwise until you feel the "click." You can now grind with the helmet. Remember to turn
the knob back when you want to weld again.

Maintenance & Cleaning
4.1
The welding helmet should be handled with care. Do not drop or place heavy objects on the ADF Filter. If the filter is
scratched or broken, it must be replaced before using again. A filter covered in dust or condensation could cause light
diffusion and significantly impair vision.
4.2
The welding helmet has an external plate (cover plate) made of polycarbonate, which has a high melting point and good
technical specifications to protect the auto-darkening filter from grease, dirt, dust and spatter. The cover plate will wear
with use and should be replaced as soon as vision is impaired. The filter viewing area can be cleaned when the front
cover plate is changed. The following cleaning methods are recommended: Wipe with a clean, dry cloth; clean with a soft,
moistened cloth; dry with a clean cloth.
4.3
If used correctly, the auto-darkening filter does not require any maintenance during its service life.
4.4
The rest of the components can be cleaned with a cloth moistened in soapy water, rinsed, and dried with a dry cloth.
5.0
Storage & Transport
5.1
Make sure that the welding helmet, auto-darkening filter, and cover plate are not damaged. The welding helmet must be
carefully transported in the original box, away from other objects and never stored near sharp objects. The storage place
should be dry, away from heat sources and out of direct sunlight, at a temperature between -4ºF-176ºF (-20ºC-80ºC). This
auto-darkening welding helmet does not contain any special or dangerous materials. It can be disposed of in the same
way as other standard electronic appliances.
