USING THE TOOLS
Each of the included tools has a distinct purpose:
• The Warren Hoe is used to make furrows in cultivated ground
(Fig. 7, A) to prepare the soil for planting seeds.
• The Long Tine Rake is used to break up small weeds in plant
beds (Fig. 7, B) so they can be easily removed.

WARNING:
To prevent serious injury, never perform
maintenance or repairs with unit running. Always service
and repair a cool unit.

If you drop the unit, carefully inspect it for damage. If the tool
is bent, housing cracked, or handles broken or if you see any
other condition that may affect the trimmer's operation contact
a Sears or another qualified service dealer for repairs before
putting it back into use.

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS
SPECIFICATIONS
• The Large Rake is used to level cultivated ground (Fig. 7, C) to
assist in water retention.
• The Weeding Hoe is used to cut the roots of large weeds in
landscaped ground (Fig. 7, D).
NOTE: Proceed carefully while operating the tools and do not swing
the unit in broad or rapid strokes. The back-and-forth
oscillating action of each tool is sufficient for most uses.

Fertilizers and other garden chemicals contain agents which
greatly accelerate the corrosion of metals. Do not store the
tool on or adjacent to fertilizers or chemicals.

With the unit powered off (and the spark plug disconnected),
use only mild soap and a damp cloth to clean the tool. Never
let any liquid get inside the tool; never immerse any part of the
tool into a liquid.
NOTE: To assure product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs,
maintenance and adjustments should be performed by a
Sears or another qualified service dealer using identical
replacement parts.
