WARNING
Risk of fire or explosion from flammable or explosive substances!
Laser light can act as source of ignition for flammable substances. This includes flammable
and oxidizing gases such as N
gases as well as swabs soaked in alcohol or saturated with oxygen. There is risk of explosion
also during the application of laser light in the area of organs, body cavities and tubes that
contain endogenous gases, flammable or oxidizing gases.
Do not activate laser light near flammable substances, liquids and anesthetics.
•
Ensure that organs, body cavities and tubes in the application area are free of
•
endogenous, flammable and oxidizing gases.
Do not use oxygen as a purging medium for endoscopic applications!
•
Take fire prevention measures!
•
NOTICE
Possible destruction of endoscopic components!
Activation of laser light while the light emission of the laser fiber is in the vicinity of
endoscopic components can lead to destruction of the laser fiber and the endoscopic
components!
Ensure before each activation of laser light that the laser emission of the laser fiber is at
•
the exact location desired.

Use
4.1
Before Initial Use
The purged laser fiber is packed in sterile packaging and can be directly used when taken out
of its sterile packaging without additional pretreatment.
4.2
Application
The purged laser fiber is wound up on a fiber tray and packaged in a storage tray.
•
Open paper backside of storage tray and take out fiber tray under sterile conditions.
•
Withdraw purged laser fiber from fiber tray under sterile conditions, beginning with the
distal end.
Remove protection from laser fiber tip.
•
Remove protection cap of the SMA-X connector.
