■ Fixed station installation:
To use this radio as fixed station, you will need an external power supply (not
included). For more information, consult with your distributor or salesperson.
The DC power supply must be able to supply the current necessary for the radio
operation.
Insert the radio's VDC power cable to the power supply terminals, be sure that the
polarities are correct (Red: positive; Black: negative).
Notes:
- Never connect the radio directly to an AC wall outlet.
- Use the supplied DC power cable to connect the radio to a DC power
supply.
- Do not replace the DC power cable with a smaller diameter cable.
- Before connecting the DC power cable, be sure to switch OFF the radio
and the DC power supply.
■ Replacing fuses:
If the fuse blows, first determine the cause and then correct the problem. After the
problem is resolved, replace the fuse. If the new installed fuse continues to blow,
turn OFF the DC power supply and contact your Technical Service for assistance.
Only use fuses of the specified type and rating, otherwise the radio could be
damaged.
ANTENNA INSTALLATION:
Before operating the radio, install an efficient and tuned antenna. The success of
your installation will depend on the type of antenna and its correct installation.
Use a 50 Ω impedance antenna and low-loss coaxial cable with 50 Ω impedance.
Coupling the antenna to the radio by coaxial cable having impedance other than
50 Ω reduces the efficiency of the antenna system and can cause interference to
other communication systems, TV, radio receivers and other electronic
equipment.
The antenna installation in a vehicle can be carried out as shown in the following
