1. General/Location
First you must make sure that your microscope
is on a stable and solid surface.
2. Electric LED lighting with dimmer
In the base of the microscope there is a battery
compartment (12). Loosen the screws at the
12
battery compartment cover with a small screw-
driver and remove the cover.
Place the batteries in the compartment so that
the flat minus poles (-) press against the spring
terminal and the plus poles (+) are touching the
flat contact sheets.
Close the battery compartment with the cover
and turn the microscope around again.
As your device has continuously controllable
lighting (dimmer) optimal illumination of the
object to be viewed is guaranteed.
3. Microscope setup
The microscope's eyepiece will now be prepared
for the first observation.
First, rotate the eyepiece into a convenient
position. Begin every observation with the low-
est magnification. Place the microscope stage
(Fig. 1, 7) with the focus wheel (Fig 1, 8) into
the lowest position and rotate the objective
revolver (Fig. 1, 6) until it locks on the lowest
magnification (4x).
NOTE:
First, drive the Microscope's
table (Fig. 1, 7) in its lowest
position before changing the
objective in order to prevent
damages.
Insert the 5x eyepiece (Fig. 3, 1) in the Barlow
lens (Fig. 3, 3).
Take care, that the Barlow lens is inserted com-
pletely in the eyepiece socket (Fig. 3, 4).
4. Condenser
The condenser is used to adjust the light bun-
dling to the observed object in an optimal way.
The iris diaphragm is used to increase the
depth of focus. With an open aperture more
light is getting through but the depth of focus is
less. With partially closed aperture the depth of
focus is higher but it is neccessary to increase
the brightness of the illumination then. It is
recommended not to close the iris diaphragm
too much when working with higher magnifica-
tions. Otherwise the image resolution will de-
crease.Move the lever for the iris diaphragm to
right or left to change the aperture setting.
5. Observation
After you have set up the microscope with the
corresponding illumination, the following prin-
ciples are important:
Begin each observation with a simple observa-
tion at lowest magnification, so that the centre
and position of the object to be viewed is in
focus.
The higher the magnification the more light is
required for good picture quality.
