8. Maintenance and cleaning
8.1
Maintenance
Repairs must only be carried out by the manufacturer.
8.2
Cleaning
CAUTION!
■
Before cleaning, correctly disconnect the pressure sensor from the
pressure supply, switch it off and disconnect it from the voltage supply.
■
Clean the instrument with a moist cloth.
■
Electrical connections must not come into contact with moisture.
■
Wash or clean the dismounted instrument before returning it, in order to
protect persons and the environment from exposure to residual media.
■
Residual media in the dismounted pressure sensor can result in a risk to
persons, the environment and equipment. Take sufficient precautionary
measures.
For information on returning the instrument see chapter 10.2 "Return".
9. Faults
In the event of any faults, first check whether the pressure sensor is mounted
correctly, mechanically and electrically.
Faults
No output signal
No/wrong output signal
Constant output signal upon
change in pressure
Deviating output signal
Signal span too high
Signal span too small
Signal span varies
Leakage at the process connection
If complaint is unjustified, the handling costs will be charged.
Operating instructions Pressure sensor, P3298
Causes
Cable break
No/wrong power supply
Wiring error
Wrong power supply
Zero point change through
dynamic pressure
Pressure spikes, cavitations
Wrong power supply
EMC interference sources in the
environment
Instrument not grounded
Strongly varying pressure of the
medium
Hairline crack in the pressure port
Measures
Replace connecting cable
Correct the power supply
Rectify the wiring in accordance
with the connection diagram
Replace instrument
Re-adjust zero point
Use instrument with cavitation and
pressure-spike protection
Rectify the power supply
Shield the instrument and cables,
remove source of interference
Ground the instrument
Damping (consulting by the
manufacturer)
Consult with manufacturer, if
required, replace instrument.
