BEFORE FIRST USE
•
Remove all of the packaging.
•
Before first use, the invisible protective coating must be removed. To do this, heat the
hotplate on its own for 4 minutes at maximum temperature. A slight odour and a little
smoke may be released during this process, but it will quickly disappear. Make sure the
room is well ventilated.
•
IMPORTANT: This must be the one and only time you use the hotplate on its own
(without a pan on it).
•
Turn off the plate and allow it to cool completely. The plate is now ready to be used.
OPERATING THE APPLIANCE
1.
Unwind the power cord completely and plug the appliance into an earthed wall outlet.
2.
Place the pan on the hotplate: always use flat-bottomed pans for better contact with the
hotplate. It is preferable to use a pan with a diameter similar to that of the hotplate. Do
not use a pan with a diameter of less than 15 cm. Also check that the pan is centred on the
hotplate and that the pan handle is in a safe position.
3.
To turn on the hotplate, turn the thermostat knob to the right. Then set the plate power
to the desired position (between MIN and MAX positions). The indicator light comes on.
Use the lowest settings (MIN to 4) to simmer and cook over a low heat, and the highest
setting (MAX) to boil.
4.
To turn off the plate, turn the thermostat knob to the MIN position and then unplug the
plate.
