SAFETY AND INSTRUCTIONS
Dear customer,
Please read these instructions carefully before installing and commissioning your device. Observe all safety ins-
tructions before starting work. Keep these instructions in a safe place and inform every user about any potential
hazards which arise in conjunction with this product. In the event of a change of ownership, pass these instructions
on to the new owner. In case of damages which are caused by misuse or improper installation the warranty and any warranty
claim will be void.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
There is a risk of death due to electric shock!
Power must be disconnected before working on electrical installations. This also applies when carrying out
maintenance or repairs on the motorised roller shutter installation. Work on electrical installations must only be
carried out by authorised electricians. The regulations of the local energy supplier as well as all applicable
standards and regulations for the electrical installation must be observed.
Before working on roller shutter installations, the roller shutter must be secured against falling on its own.
The product is designed for use in dry rooms. (Protection class IP44). When installing in damp rooms (bathrooms), further
regulations must be observed. (DIN VDE 0100, section 701 and 702)
The product can become very hot during normal operation. Caution: Risk of injury!
The connection cable of the product must not be laid outside.
The product and its packaging are not toys. Keep children away from them. There is a risk of injury or suffocation.
Third parties must stay away from the roller shutter installation during the setup process.
The product must not be opened or modified.
The product does not require maintenance or separate care.
The cover of the roller shutter box must be installed so as to always permit access.
Before installing the product, check for damage and make sure that all accessories are included.
The tensile load and construction of the product must correspond to the roller shutter installation. The maximum load of the
product must not be exceeded.
The product is designed for short-term operation with a duty cycle of 4 minutes. If the product becomes overheated
due to excessive operation or tensile load, the roller shutter motor will switch off. Following a cool-down period of at least
20 minutes, the product will be ready for operation once more.
Regularly check that the roller shutter installation is running smoothly and make sure it does not ice up in winter.

Small deviations in the end position may arise during operation due to the temperature differences in winter and summer.
The end positions may need to be re-adjusted.
Compensate the length tolerances of the octagonal shaft with a suitable roller sleeve (MAXI item no. 80100, MINI item no. 80200).
The insertion of the roller sleeve into the octagonal shaft must be at least 60 mm deep (page 155). It must not touch the
product in the octagonal shaft and impair its run.
The product must not be used or assembled by children or persons who are not in a position to use the product safely and
with caution due to physical, mental or sensory impairments. Children are not allowed to play with the product. The product
can be used by children aged 8 years and above, as well as by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capacities,
or those lacking in knowledge and experience, if they are supervised or have been instructed on the safe use of the product
and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance on the product must not be performed by children
without adult supervision.
INTENDED USE
The product is designed for use in roller shutter installations only.
The product must only be used in properly assembled roller shutter installations.
The roller shutter installations must be in perfect condition.
Defects in the roller shutter installations must be remedied and damaged parts replaced before fitting the product.
