4.2 | Safety instructions

WARNING!
Risks to children and to persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
abilities (e.g. partially disabled persons and elderly persons with reduced
physical and mental abilities) or a lack of experience and knowledge of
handling motorbikes (e.g. older children).
• Keep the packaging included in the product contents out of reach of children.
There is a risk of suffocation.
Risk of crushing!
• When assembling both pieces, ensure that your fingers are not crushed. Also
ensure that you do not place your fingers between the fork tube and the fork
seal driver during the driving process.
CAUTION!
Risk of slipping, stumbling and falling!
Maintenance work on a jacked vehicle and the use of cleaning, maintenance
and lubricating products may lead to a risk of slipping and a risk of falls and
associated injuries.
• Be careful of protruding parts and remove any trip hazards where applicable.
IMPORTANT!
Risk of damage
Improper handling of the fork seal driver may cause damage to the fork seal
driver or damage to the vehicle.
• Ensure that you choose the correct size of fork seal driver. It must fit the
outside diameter of the fork tube; if it does not, the surface of the fork tube
may be damaged.
• Do not wear loose clothing, as there is a risk of such clothing getting stuck on
protruding parts. Therefore, you must wear only tight-fitting clothing. Never
wear rings, chains or other jewellery. Wear a hair net if you have long hair. Wear
sturdy shoes or safety shoes.

5 | Application

5.1 | Preparation

You can view the Louis mechanic advice via this link to find out how to carry out a full replacement of
fork sealing rings. This manual is limited to the use of the fork seal driver.
Before the new seal ring is fitted, it must be lubricated a little, specifically once on the outer surface
to make it easier to slip into the dip tube and then on the sealing lip to ensure that this is not
damaged during the fitting process.

5.2 | Application
The old sealing ring is the best option for use as an underlay for the initial impacts. Place both
parts of the fork seal driver around the fork tube and bring them together. Ensure that you check the
outside diameter of the fork tube. If the fork seal driver is too small, the fork tube may be scratched.
If it is too big, the sealing ring will not be driven in properly and the fit of the support may be
damaged. You need not exert huge amounts of force to drive in the fork sealing ring. The sealing ring
is driven in until the spring ring can be pressed into the recess with a screwdriver.
The fork tube can then be filled with fork oil.

6 | Storage

Store the fork seal driver in a space which is protected from the weather. The temperature should be
between -10 °C and +55 °C and the maximum air humidity should be 90% (non-condensing).

7 | Cleaning and care

Use an acid-free vehicle cleaning product to clean the fork seal driver.
Ensure that the inner part is always kept clean. Dirt or damage can damage the fork tubes.
Wherever possible, clean the sliding surface only with a damp cloth. Lubricant residues must be
removed using a cloth with the help of brake cleaner.

8 | Warranty

This product comes with the statutory two-year warranty. The warranty period begins on the date of
purchase. It does not cover normal wear and tear, use for anything other than the intended purpose,
or damage caused by an accident, tampering or attempted repairs by unauthorised persons or
customer service departments.
