-A fall arrest harness is the only acceptable body restraint device that can be used
in a fall arrest system.
-The fall protection system must only be connected to harness connection points
that are identified with a capital "A". L
The identification "A/2" indicates that two connection points with the same
identification must be connected at the same time. It is forbidden to connect the
protection system to a single connection point which is marked "A/2".
In harnesses with a built-in belt, the connection to the work positioning equipment
must be made only to the side anchorage rings of the belt.
-Connection to the anchorage point and to other equipment must be made via
carabiners in accordance with EN 362:2004.
-For use with fall arresters EN 353-1:2014+A1:2017, EN 353-2:2002 it is
recommended to connect the equipment to the harness front anchorage point. For
use with energy absorbers EN 355:2002 or fall arresters EN 360:2002 it is
recommended to connect the equipment to the dorsal anchorage point of the
harness.
-Before each use of the personal protective equipment, it must be carefully checked
to ensure that it is fit for use and functioning correctly.
During the pre-use check, all parts of the equipment must be carefully inspected for
signs of deterioration, excessive wear, corrosion, abrasions, UV degradation, cuts
and incorrect use. Special attention should be paid to straps, seams, anchorage
rings, buckles and adjustment elements.
INFORMATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
-Before use, establish a rescue plan to be able to carry it out in case of emergency.
-Do not make any alterations or additions to the equipment without the prior written
consent of the manufacturer.
-Equipment must not be used outside its limitations, or for other than its intended
purpose.
-Ensure compatibility of equipment items when assembled into a system. Ensure
that all items are compatible with each other and appropriate for the proposed
application. It is prohibited to use the protection system where the operation of an
individual item is affected by or interferes with the function of another. Periodically
check connections and fittings of components to prevent accidental disconnection
or loosening.
-If damage is detected or if there is any doubt as to its suitability for safe use, the
personal protective equipment must be removed from use immediately.
In the event of deterioration or any doubt as to its condition for safe use, personal
protective equipment must be removed from use immediately. It must not be used
again until a competent person confirms in writing that it is acceptable to do so.
-In the event that a fall has stopped, the equipment must be removed from use.
-It is essential for safety to check the minimum clearance required below the user's
feet in the workplace before each use, so that in the event of a fall there is no
collision with the ground or other obstacle in the path of the fall. Details of the
required minimum clearance can be found in the instructions for use of the
respective components of the fall arrest system.
-During use of the equipment it is necessary to pay particular attention to
dangerous circumstances which may affect the behaviour of the equipment and the
safety of the user, and in particular:
