3.2 Carrying out a crimping connection
Open the handles, insert the cable into the connector, install the connector in the "V" of the die and
apply force to the mobile handle until reaches the parallel position to the fixed handle. The
compression is finished. When the compression is already finished, open the handles and take out the
connector crimped with the cable.
4. MAINTENANCE
4.1.1 Daily maintenance
Keep away the tool from humidity environments.
Check that all pieces are correctly fixed.
A normal maintenance prolongs the life of the hand operated tool.
Assure that all movement pieces of the tool are recovered with a thin layer of oil.
Place the tool in a dry and clean environment when the tool is not being used.
4.1.2 Periodic maintenance
Clean the tool taking care with the plastic and the paint.
Inspect the die and nest in order to look for wear away and broken zones of the tool.
5. SERVICE
NEVER service or adjust a tool. Servicing a tool
may result in personal injury.
6. GENERAL GUIDELINES
Disassembly should be done on a flat, clean surface. Some parts may fall free during
disassembly. To prevent part loss or damage, keep the tool as close to the working surface as
possible.
Inspect all parts as they are disassembled and their mating parts in the tool that are not
removed for signs of damage, wear, cracks, etc. Replace any parts which appear to be
damaged.
When disassembling the tool for service, it is recommended that O-rings, back-up rings and
gaskets be replaced.
Clean grease and oil from all parts (taking care to protect your eyes), then dry thoroughly. Do
not expose O-rings or other packing components to cleaning agents for long periods of time.
Inspect all parts as they are assembled for signs of damage, wear, cracks, etc. Do not install
any parts which appear to be damaged.
