PLEASE NOTE: This system was specifically designed to optimize light
uniformity for 315 watt lamps. Do not attempt to install any other wattage
lamps into this system. The ballast included with this system only operates
315 watt lamps.
THIS SYSTEM WILL OPERATE:
• 315 watt Ceramic Metal Halide (CMH) grow lamps -

CONTENTS

WARNING - RISK OF SHOCK - DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE INSTALLING or SERVICING SYSTEM.

WARNING - Do not drape power cords over the reflector to avoid damage to cord.
•
CAUTION – Must only operate 315W CMH grow lamps that are rated for "Open" system
operation, ANSI type "O".
•
CAUTION - RISK OF BURN: Do not touch grow lamp or reflector when in operation
or during cool-off period.
• The installation and use of the fixture is the responsibility of the end user. Incorrect use or
installation can lead to injury or death and damage to the fixture and electronic circuitry
and revokes the warranty.
• Always adhere to the applicable electrical code, local rules and regulations when installing
or using the fixture.
• DO NOT open or disassemble the fixture, it contains no serviceable parts inside. Opening
the fixture will void the warranty and can cause electrical shock or electrocution.
• DO NOT use the system when either its lamp or its power cord is damaged. Replace the
power cord only with original certified cords. Contact your local retail store if the power cord
is damaged.
• DO NOT modify cords. Modifications to the cords can lead to unwanted electromagnetic
effects which makes the product not comply with legal requirements.
• Avoid coiled cords. Coiled cords may lead to electromagnetic interference.
• DO NOT use the fixture near flammable, explosive or reactive substances.
• Always install lamp before connecting the fixture to the main power supply.
• Allow 30 minute cool down before handling lamp.
• Allow 30 minute cool down before handling reflector.
• Wear safety glasses and gloves when installing lamps or servicing the system.
• DO NOT expose any component of this lighting system to condensing humidity, fog or direct
spray to avoid breakage and/or thermal shock.
• Make sure system is properly supported with supporting chains and/or hooks.
• DO NOT pull the cord to unplug the system, pull the plug only.
• DO NOT lift the system by any cords.
• DO NOT hang system by cord.
• DO NOT mount luminaire directly touching any surface (maintain at least 1" from the
top of the luminaire to mounting surface).
• DO NOT operate in ambient temperatures above 95°F/35°C. Note: Maintain the
temperature within the growing space below 81°F/27°C, otherwise ventilation/cooling
system may be required.
• Note: Until the lamp has achieved at least 10 hours of operation, the lamp should never be
turned off sooner than 2 minutes after starting lamp. The lamp may require 10-30 minutes
cooling time before restarting.

SYSTEM INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Inspect system for defects prior to installation. If defects are
noticed do not install and contact the retail store where purchased.
1. Remove system from packaging.
2. Inspect 315 watt Ceramic Metal Halide grow lamp for damage.
If lamp is damaged do not attempt to install. Inspect outer
envelope of lamp - if lamp shows scratches or cracks, do not
install and contact retail store where purchased.
3. Use a fabric glove to carefully
install the lamp into the socket
by inserting pins into matching
shaped holes in socket and
turning lamp to right (clockwise).
When lamp is properly installed,
the base will stop turning.

4. Use mounting hardware suitable
for the surface involved, attach chain. Hardware and chain are
to be capable of supporting
100 lbs. Mount system by the hanger hooks. (Figure 1)
• For optimal performance, position the bottom of the system
36 inches above the plant canopy. (Figure 2)
• For optimal light uniformity, position multiple systems
3 feet apart from one another from lamp center to next
lamp center. (Figure 3, back page)
5. The installation must be made in accordance with the current
edition of the National Electric Code, and all applicable state
and local building codes.
6. The final installation must be approved by the appropriate,
qualified, electrical/building inspector(s).
7. Improper installation may result in a risk of fire or electrical
shock hazard.
8. Switch off main power supply.
9. Using a suitably rated electrical enclosure/box;
Connect the black wire lead to the line supply lead.
Connect the white wire to the neutral supply lead.
Connect the green ground wire to the supply ground lead.
10. The system is now ready for operation.
11. Switch on main power supply.
