Troubleshooting

Problem
The Battery LED power
indicator
, is blinking
orange.
The notebook feels too hot.
You forget the boot password.
The compact disc tray will not
open when there is a disc in the
tray.
The DVD regional codes can no
longer be changed.
Unwelcome numbers appear
when typing.

Low Battery. Plug in the AC power source. If the computer doesn't start up immediately,
turn it off then on again.
Make sure the notebook is properly ventilated and the vent(s)/fan intake(s) is (are) not
blocked. If this doesn't cool it down, put the system into Hibernate mode or turn it off for an
hour. Make sure the computer isn't sitting on a thermal surface. Make sure you're using the
correct adapter
.
If you forget the password, you may have to discharge the battery of the CMOS. Contact
your service representative for help.
The compact disc is not correctly placed in the tray. Gently try to remove the disc using the
eject hole. See

The code has been changed the maximum 5 times. See

If the LED
is lit, then Number Lock is turned ON. Check that Padlock mode is not
