OPERATIVE THRESHOLD ADJUSTMENT ON AIRBOX GS
EMC
The adjustment of the operative threshold is carried out by the adjustment of
a screw of a trimmer accessible with a screwdriver, located by the entrance
of the cable.
By this adjustment it is possible to set the starting of the suction engine when
the diverter is on position II, and a load is applied to the socket.
The trimmer adjusts a value of resistance from 0 up to 10K .
The trimmer adjusting screw has not an end run and from the maximum value
to the minimum value it takes about 25 laps. Beyond this range, the screw
continues to turn endlessly without producing changes in resistance.
The trimmer is supplied already pre-set at around the middle of the range, and then at about 5 .
Follow these tips to make the adjustment:
1) Connect the Airbox GS EMC to the power outlet.
2) Place the diverter auto / manu at position II (auto).
3) Connect to the outlet of the Airbox GS EMC the accessory equipment.
4) Turn the power of the accessory equipment to minimum. At this point you may have these 3 cases:
Case 1: The engine of Airbox GS EMC starts, and at the stop of the accessory equipment, after about 5 se-
conds, it stops. The threshold value is correct.
Case 2: The engine of Airbox GS EMC does not start.
Turn the screw for adjusting the trimmer counter-clockwise until the engine of Airbox GS EMC starts, and check
after about 5 seconds from power-off of the accessory equipment, it stops.
At this point the operative threshold for intervention is set on the minimum power of the accessory
equipment.
Case 3: The engine of Airbox GS EMC starts just by connecting an accessory to the outlet, even if the engine
of the accessory equiment is off.
Turn the screw for adjusting the trimmer clockwise until the engine of Airbox GS EMC stops.
At this point stop the accessory device, and verify that bringing the power regulator to the minimum,
the engine of Airbox GS EMC starts.
Technical Note:
Turning the screw for adjusting the trimmer clockwise, the resistance increases, and the threshold of inter-
vention increases;
Turning the screw for adjusting the trimmer counter-clockwise, the resistance decreases, and the threshold
of intervention decreases. When it gets to the last 3-4 laps, the engine intake will start even if no load is con-
nected
