EcoTestr pH1
EcoTestr pH 1
Note: DO NOT BE ALARMED if white crystals form around the cap, this is normal.
CONDITIONING before first use. Fill the cap with water, close the cap and soak the sensor for 1 hour. This will
activate the sensor and dissolve the crystals.
Note: Keep the tester upright during soaking, as the cap is not leak proof.
CALIBRATION: Select pH 7 buffer for general testing or pH 4 or 10 buffer when measuring acidic/basic samples •
Press on/off button to power on. Immerse sensor in chosen buffer about 20 mm deep and stir gently. Wait for
displayed value to stabilize at or near the pH buffer chosen • Next, press cal button to enter calibration sequence.
The display will flash continuously • To cancel calibration at this point, press cal button to escape • To complete
calibration, press hold/ent button to confirm. You have successfully calibrated the instrument.
Note: If no button is pressed for 15 seconds, tester will automatically confirm calibration.
pH TESTING: Remove cap and press on/off button to turn on the tester • Dip the sensor about 20 mm into the test
solution • Stir once and let the display stabilize. Note the pH value • Press hold/ent button if you wish to hold the
reading. Press the same button again to release the held reading • Press the on/off button to shut off • Tester
automatically shuts off after 8.5 minutes of non-use to conserve batteries!
MAINTENANCE IS EASY: Rinse the sensor in tap water after use. In harsh samples, take readings quickly, rinse
sensor immediately afterwards with de-ionized water to remove residues and prevent electrode contamination. To
maximize sensor life, fill the cap with 20 mm clean tap water (NOT DE-IONIZED WATER), and replace cap. This will
keep the sensor conditioned and be ready for use.
CHANGING BATTERIES: Lift up front battery cover and two sides of
the pocket clip to remove battery cover. Remove old batteries and
replace with fresh ones noting polarity as shown in battery
compartment. No need to re-calibrate after battery change since
tester's non-volatile memory function retains calibration.
USEFUL NOTE: To avoid cross contamination, rinse between
samples and buffer with de-ionized water. Calibration should be done
regularly or daily to ensure good tester accuracy.
ERROR MESSAGES: Lb - Weak batteries. Need replacement. Er - Wrong or bad buffer value (out of range) or the
sensor is failing. Or / Ur – Over and Under range signal or sensor is contaminated / damaged.
RESET OPTION: Reset option allows you to restore the calibration back to factory default settings • Turn off the
tester • Press and hold cal button and then switch on using the on/off button. The display shows a blinking 'rS'
(reset) • Press hold/ent button to confirm reset or press the cal button to cancel reset option.
WARRANTY: This tester is supplied with a warranty against manufacturing defects for a period of ONE year from
date of purchase.
