6. Initial use
• If present, remove the battery insulating strip on the battery compartment lid and remove the pro-
tective film from the battery, then insert the battery the correct way round.
• Check the device for damage.
• You can choose to use the regular side of the mirror or the side with magnification. Simply turn the
mirror surface to the appropriate side. The light can be switched on or off using the button located
on the stand.
7. Cleaning and maintenance
• Switch off the device each time before cleaning.
• Clean the device using a soft, slightly damp cloth and a mild cleaning product.
• Clean the device using only the methods specified. Under no circumstances may liquid enter the
device or the accessories.
• Do not use the device again until it is completely dry.
• Do not clean the device in a dishwasher.
• Do not use any abrasive cleaning products or hard brushes.
8. Disposal
For environmental reasons, do not dispose of the device in the household waste at the end of
its service life.
Dispose of the device at a suitable local collection or recycling point in your country. Dispose
of the device in accordance with EC Directive – WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
If you have any questions, please contact the local authorities responsible for waste disposal.
Empty, completely flat batteries must be disposed of through specially designated collection boxes,
recycling points or electronics retailers. You are legally required to dispose of the
batteries.
The codes below are printed on batteries containing harmful substances:
Pb = Battery contains lead
Cd = Battery contains cadmium
Hg = Battery contains mercury
