Linear USB II

Sample applications

EN
On the Linear USB II one USB audio source (e.g. PC, tablet, smartphone) and one
analog source can be connected simultaneously. It offers one USB input (priority
I) and one unbalanced RCA input (fallback). The inputs are switched through in
the order of their priority whenever a digital signal is recognised. If no digital
audio signal is present at the USB input, the analog input is automatically
activated.
In this example a pair of active loudspeakers, a turntable and a laptop are
connected to the Linear USB II.

After connecting the Linear USB II to mains, connect your USB audio source to
the USB port (I) with a USB type B cable. Mobile phones may require a special
connection cable which you can buy at your specialised dealer. Via RCA cables
connect your turntable to a phono preamp (P) and the latter to the line input (II)
of the Linear USB II. All inputs are located on the rear panel of the unit (see pa-
ges 44/45). Connect your active loudspeakers to the pre-out of the Linear USB II
by means of an RCA cable.
Due to the automatic input prioritising, you simply need to turn on the desired
signal source. Make sure that no signal comes in through the USB input when
listening over the analog input, or turn off the computer or any other source
which may be connected via USB.
Set the gain on the bottom side of the unit to +0 dB (see pages 46/47).
The Linear USB II can drive up to two headphones simultaneously. To this end
use the headphone outputs on the front panel of the unit. The left headphone
socket will mute the pre-out.
When using headphones, set the gain on the bottom side of the device accor-
ding to the chart on page 47.
