and Operating Limitations
The dispenser has a broad range of application
permits bottle dispensing of aggressive reagents,
including concentrated acids such as H
H

, bases like NaOH, KOH, saline solutions, as

well as many organic solvents. This instrument is
designed for dispensing liquids directly from the
reservoir bottle, observing the following physical
limits:

+ 15 °C to + 40 °C (59 °F to 104 °F) of
instrument and reagent
– density up to 2.2 g/cm
– vapor pressure up to 500 mbar. Aspirate slowly
above 300 mbar, in order to prevent the liquid
from boiling.

3. Operating Limitations
Liquids which form deposits may make the piston
difficult to move or may cause jamming (e.g.,
crystallizing solutions or highly concentrated
alkaline solutions).
When dispensing flammable media, make
provisions to avoid static charging, e.g., do
not dispense into plastic vessels; do not wipe
instruments with a dry cloth.
The instrument is designed for general laboratory
applications and complies with the relevant
standards, e.g. DIN EN ISO 8655. Compatibility
of the instrument for a specific application (e.g.,
trace material analysis, food sector etc.) must
be checked by the user. Approvals for specific
applications in the medicinal / pharmaceutical /
foodstuff processing areas are not available.

4. Operating Exclusions
When the instrument is correctly used, the
dispensed liquid comes into contact with only the
following materials:
Borosilicate glass, FEP, ETFE, PFA, PTFE, Platinum-
Iridium and PVDF (closure cap).
The instrument is suitable for dispensing a
wide range of liquids, excluding:
– Liquids which attack FEP, ETFE, PFA, PTFE
and PVDF (e.g., dissolved sodium azide*)
– Solutions containing hydrofluoric acid, since
they attack borosilicate glass
– Suspensions, (e.g., of charcoal) as
solid particles may clog or damage the
instrument
– Liquids attacking PP (adapter)
– Solutions which decompose and form solid
particles (e.g., Biuret reagent)
– Substances which undergo catalytic
transformation or react with Platinum-
Iridium (e.g., H
O
2

– Explosive liquids e.g.,carbon disulfide as this
media inflames easily
– Tetrahydrofuran
– Trifluoroacetic acide
– Nitric acid > 60%
* Dissolved sodium azide permitted up to a concentration of
max. 0.1%.

5. Storage Conditions
Store the instrument and accessories only in
cleaned condition in a cool and dry place.
Storage temperature: -20 °C to +50 °C
(-4° F to 122° F).
