Important information about the cable
Only plug the power cable into an earthed socket. As a safety measure, this appliance
is fitted with a polarised plug. This plug will only fit into an earthed socket and only in
one direction. If the plug does not fit completely into the socket, change the position.
If it does not fit in either direction, contact an electrician. Do not try to alter this safety
measure.
A short electrical cable is provided (or connector cable) to reduce the risk of getting
caught up or tripping over a longer cable. Extension leads may be used if due care is
taken.
If using an extension lead, the nominal electrical capacity of this cable must be at least
equal to the nominal electrical capacity indicated on the appliance. The extension lead
must be positioned so that it does not hang off a counter or a table where a child could
pull on it or trip over it.
USER INSTRUCTIONS
Before using the griddle for the first time, familiarise yourself with its characteristics.
Wash the griddle with warm soapy water, rinse and dry. Do not immerse the temperature
gauge or allow it to come into contact with any liquids. Lubricate the non-stick cooking
surface by rubbing in a little cooking oil. Remove any excess oil with kitchen paper.
1. When you remove the griddle from its packaging, the feet will be folded away into
the base in their storage position. Before using the griddle, these feet must be
opened out into the position shown in Fig. 1. To open out the feet, lift the griddle
holding the base at both ends; then reach under the griddle and pull the feet out
until they are correctly positioned. Place the griddle on a dry, flat and heat resistant
surface.
2. Slide the drip tray into place. Insert the temperature gauge into the griddle so the
two prongs of the electric griddle are fully inserted into the gauge. Plug the cable
into the mains power.
3. Turn the temperature gauge to the desired temperature. Pre-heat the griddle. The
pilot light will go out when the pre-selected temperature has been reached (this will
take approximately between 5 and 10 minutes).
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Do not turn the appliance to maximum temperature when
empty, as it may overheat and break down
4. Prepare the food you wish to cook. Since the griddle surface has a non-stick finish,
food can be prepared with little or no oil.
5. Place the food on the griddle and cook according to the cooking time-temperature
table. Adjust the temperature according to personal taste and the specific food item
you are cooking. During cooking, the pilot light will come on and go off indicating
that the desired temperature is being maintained.
