WARNING
Be certain all knobs and fasteners are fully tightened
before operating the equipment. Periodically check for
tightness during use to avoid serious injury.
REMOVING THE REELEASY™ STRING HEAD
■ Stop the engine.
■ Open the ReelEasy™ String Head by depressing the
latches on each side. The contents of the string head
are spring loaded, so keep your other hand over the
string head cover while depressing the latches.
■ Remove the string head cover, bump knob, line, spool,
and spring.
■ Place the holding pin through the hole in the upper
flange washer and the hole in the gear head. Using the
bump knob, to turn the hex bolt clockwise to remove.
■ Remove the string head housing from the drive
connector.
■ Using a combination wrench, turn the drive connector
clockwise to remove.
■ Remove the upper flange washer from the gear shaft
and retain for later use.
■ Use the combination wrench supplied to loosen guard
screw, then remove grass deflector from the blade
guard.
NOTE: Store the disassembled parts together for later
use.
INSTALLING THE TRI-ARC™ BLADE
See fi gure 6a.
To reduce the risk of injury, keep the blade protector on
the blade at all times. Remove the blade protector only
during cutting operations.
■ Place the upper flange washer over the gear shaft with
the hollow side towards the blade guard.
■ Centre the blade on the upper flange washer and make
sure the blade sits flat. Install the cupped washer with
the raised centre away from the blade and make sure
it sits well into the gear shaft.
■ Install the blade retainer nut until finger tight.
■ Place the holding pin through the hole in the upper
flange washer and the hole in the gear head. Using
the combination wrench turn the blade retainer nut
counterclockwise half a turn from finger tight
