ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION
(Dealer)
For anything not expressly mentioned, refer to local regulations in force in each country. In Italy, refer to UNI 10683/2005,
along with any regional or local health authority regulations. Please check with the property manager before installing in a
block of fl ats or jointly owned property.
CHECK FOR COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER DEVICES
The stove must NOT be installed in the same room as extractor fans, Type A or B gas-fueled equipment or any other devices that
could reduce the pressure in the room (reference UNI 10683/2005).
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION CONTROL
(the plug must be in an accessible place)
The stove is fi tted with an electric power cable for connection to a 230V 50 Hz socket, preferably protected by a thermal-magne-
tic circuit breaker. Variations in tension in excess of 10% may damage the stove (install a suitable differential circuit breaker if not
already present). The electrical system must comply with the law; in particular, ensure that the earthing circuit works correctly.
The diameter of the power supply line must be suitable for the equipment's power rating.
An inadequate earthing system can cause anomalies for which Edilkamin cannot be held liable.
FIRE SAFETY DISTANCES AND LOCATION
(Illustration 3 page 18)
The stove must be level for it to work correctly.
Check the floor's load-bearing capacity.
The stove must be installed in compliance with the following safety conditions:
- minimum distance from medium-hazard flammable materials around the sides and back of the stove: 40 cm
- easily flammable materials must not be placed less than 80 cm from the front of the stove
- if the stove is installed on a flammable floor, a sheet of heat-insulating material must be placed between the two, extending out
by at least 20 cm at the sides and 40 cm at the front.
If it is impossible to comply with the distances specified above, technical/building measures must be taken to avoid all fire risks.
If the smoke outlet pipe is connected to walls made of wood or other fl ammable materials it must be suitably insulated using
ceramic fibre or other material with similar characteristics.

AIR INTAKE

The room where the stove is installed must have an air intake of at least 80 cm² to ensure a supply of fresh air to replace the air
consumed by combustion.
Alternatively, the stove can be supplied with air drawn directly from the outside through a stainless steel pipe extension of 4 cm
in diameter. This may cause some problems with condensation and the air inlet, which must have a free section of at least 12 cm²,
must be protected by a mesh. The pipe must not exceed 1 metre in length and must not have any bends.
It must end with a 90° section facing downwards or be fi tted with a wind guard.
SMOKE OUTLET
The stove must have its own smoke outlet (it must not discharge into fl ues shared with other devices).
Smoke leaves the stove through the 8 cm diameter pipe at the back.
A T-section with condensation trap and bleeder must be fi tted at the start of the vertical section.
The smoke outlet must be connected to the outside using suitable steel or black pipes (heat-resistant to 450°C), without obstructions.
The pipe must be air-tight sealed. To seal the pipes, and insulate them if necessary, materials capable of withstanding at least
300°C must be used (high-temperature silicone or mastic).
The only horizontal section allowed may be up to 2 m long. Up to three 90° bends may be included.
If the smoke outlet does not end in a fl ue, a vertical section and a wind guard are essential (refer to UNI 10683/2005). The vertical
duct may be indoors or outdoors. If the smoke duct is outdoors it must be properly insulated.
If the smoke duct ends in a fl ue, the latter must be approved for use with solid fuel and if it is more than 150 mm in diameter it
must be adapted by ducting and sealing the smoke outlet from the brickwork.
All sections of the smoke duct must be inspectable. If fi xed, inspection openings must be provided for cleaning.
Possible installations are shown in Illustrations 1 and 2 on Page 18.
