7) Reinforcing the staircase
Determine the position of the floor support (Fig. 6) and cut it according to the distance between the floor and the lower
part of its relative support.
Assemble the components as shown in (Fig. 7).
(NB: T he f loor support i s usu ally placed at approximat ely half way al ong t he staircase).
If the support cannot be mounted to the floor, it should be inserted into the wall in order to support the staircase
structure (as shown in the catalogue). Proceed by mounting the step brackets (Fig. 8) placing them against the wall
where the central winder is located (Fig. 9).
RAILING ASSEMBLY:
8) Mounting the pawls
In order to position the pawls correctly, punch three holes halfway along the sides of the relative steps.
With regards to the step nose, punch the first hole at 1.5 cm; the second and third holes should be punched in
succession at an equal distance halfway along the going P (Fig. 10).
The position of the pawls on the sides of the winders should be established by inserting the baluster that intersects
the winder group and the adjacent steps, after which the pawl should be positioned in order to establish the exact
positioning point.
Bore with a Ø 3~4 mm drill and mount the pawls with the wooden self-tapping screws.
9) Mounting the balusters
Before mounting the balusters, cut the center ones at a height of (1165-A:2). Proceed with the assembly of the top
section (Fig. 11), then mount the balusters to the pawls and insert the cap (Fig. 12). The balusters height has to be
adjusted underneath the step.
The winder baluster is joined-up by using the appropriate element and cut it to size so that it is flush with the lower
part of the last step (Fig. 14). The bottom baluster is approximately cut first, then it will be adjusted inside the element
known as "bicchiere" which is fixed to the floor; the top baluster is fixed into the slab by means of a pawl and a spacing
washer (Fig. 13).
10) Handrail assembly
Assemble the handrail segments over and beyond the length of the relative railing, cut to size the end section and
mount everything to the balusters.
Insert the caps and joints as shown in (Fig. 14).
With regards to the optional external railing, cut the loose joint at an angle suitable for connecting the inclined section
of the flight with the horizontal section of the winder; bore holes into the joint head for inserting the rolled thread screw
by using the handrail template (Fig. 15).
11) Balustrade
The optional balustrade is mounted to the floor by mechanical expanders. Bore the holes into the floor at the minimum
indispensable distance from the floor edge to prevent it from breaking.
Reinforce the end or intermediate sections with the accessories: "BALUSTER-FLOOR STIFFENER KIT" for mounting
the baluster to the floor (Fig. 17), or to the slab (Fig. 18).
"BALUSTER-WALL STIFFENER KIT" for mounting the baluster to the wall (Fig. 19), and the "BALUSTER-BALUSTER
STIFFENER KIT" for mounting the staircase railing and the balustrade (Fig. 20).
