USING THE DEHUMIDIFIER

When first using t he dehumidifier, operate t he unit cont inuously for 24 hours.
How t he Dehumidifier Operat es
Moist , humid air is drawn over a cold refrigerat ed
dehumidifying coil. Moist ure in t he air condenses on t his coil
and drains int o a bucket (or t hrough a hose and drain).
Dry, clean air is drawn t hrough t he condenser where it is
heat ed and discharged out t he t op grille int o t he room.

Aut omat ic Defrost

When frost builds up on t he evaporat or coils, t he compressor
will cycle off and t he fan will cont inue t o run unt il t he frost
disappears.

Choosing a Locat ion

A dehumidifier operat ing in a basement will have lit t le or no
effect in drying an adjacent enclosed st orage area, such as a
closet , unless t here is adequat e circulat ion of air in and out of
t he area.
• Do not use out doors.
•
This dehumidifier is int ended for indoor resident ial
applicat ions only. This dehumidifier should not be used for
commercial or indust rial applicat ions.
•
Place t he dehumidifier on a smoot h, level floor st rong
enough t o support t he unit wit h a full bucket of wat er.
•
Allow at least 18 inches of air space on all sides of t he unit
for good air circulat ion.
•
Place t he dehumidifier in an area where t he t emperat ure
will not fall below 41°F (5°C) or above 90°F (32°C). The coils
can become covered wit h frost at t emperat ures below
41°F, which may reduce performance.
•
The suggest ed range of relat ive humidit y is bet ween 40%
and 50%
•
Use t he dehumidifier in cooking, laundry and dishwashing
areas t hat have excessive moist ure.
NOTE: Place t he dehumidifier away from t he clot hes dryer.
•
Use t he dehumidifier t o prevent moist ure damage
anywhere books or valuables are st ored.
•
Use t he dehumidifier in a basement t o help prevent
moist ure damage.
•
The dehumidifier must be operat ed in an enclosed area t o
be most effect ive.
•
Close all doors, windows and ot her out side openings t o t he
room.

It is normal for t he surrounding air t o become slight ly warmer
as t he dehumidifier operat es.
When t he coil is defrost ed, t he compressor or fan will
aut omat ically rest art and dehumidifying will resume.
