climbing 2 m/s
The analogue vario displays in steps of 0.2 m/s [40ft/min]. A maximum
of ±8 m/s [1600ft/min] can be displayed

Time constant
The response inertia of the Variometer is determined by its time constant.
A short time constant results in a quick response, but can cause the dis-
play to be jumpy and erratic. A constant that is too long displays climbing
or sinking changes too slowly. The default setting is 1 sec..
However, esspecially in tourbulent air it can be an advantage to have a
longer time constant and slower vario reactions.
In Set Mode No.12 one can choose a constant from 1 to 3,6 sec. for
analogue vario and acoustic.
The Digital vario displays a resolution of 10 cm/s [20ft/min], and the
time constant can be adjusted by the User as an mean value variable.
The max. reading is ±19.9 m/s [1990 ft/min]

Time constant
The average vario is a digital vario with a much longer time
constant (1...30 sec.). It is very useful to find out the medium of a
thermal climbing. Its constant can be changed in Set Mode No.4.
This vario is also named integrating vario.
The default value is 1 sec.
