• Always disconnect the instrument before discarding; the UPS is reusable
• The UPS is not intended for continuous use. A typical duty cycle of approximately five (5) seconds on, ten
(10) seconds off is recommended. If the UPS is used continuously, or the instrument connector becomes
shorted, the output of the UPS may be interrupted. This will be indicated by an absence of audible tone.
Attempt to determine the cause of the problem before proceeding. If problem cannot be resolved or power
is not restored after several minutes of cool-down, contact Microline Surgical for instructions regarding
repair or replacement of the device.
• Use only with Microline Cautery Instruments and UPS. Use of any other instrument/power supply may
damage the instrument, the power supply and/or the PowerPack Dual Control Footswitch and could
prevent it from functioning properly during use.
• Procedures using instruments for cutting/cauterization should be performed only by persons having
adequate training and familiarity with these surgical techniques. Consult the medical literature relative to
techniques, complications and hazards prior to performance of any procedure. Surgeons using this device
should be familiar with the specific anatomy of the region in which they intend to perform the procedure.
• There are no user-serviceable parts.
• If an adverse event occurs using this device please report it to Microline Surgical Customer Service as well
as the Competent Authority in your Member State (EU).
• If disposal of the device is necessary for any reason and it is not returned to Microline, it shall be disposed
of in compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations.
• Does not contain latex.
Warning:
• Do not use in the presence of flammable materials (e.g. alcohol, flammable anesthetics).
• Always disconnect the instrument before discarding; the PowerPack Dual Control Footswitch and UPS are
reusable.
• Remove all cables connected to the UPS away from the patient prior to use of a cardiac defibrillator.
• Avoid use in the proximity of other equipment that may interfere with the safe and proper operation of the
UPS. Keep 2-way communications devices at least 3.9 ft (120 cm), mobile phones at least 3 ft (90 cm), and
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi devices at least 1 ft. (30 cm) away from any portion of the UPS and attached devices.

• Follow Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) precautionary procedures. Use in an antistatic environment (e.g.
conductive flooring, anti-static clothing and drapes) and at relative humidity of 30% or greater to avoid
excessive electrostatic charge which may interfere with the safe and proper operation of the UPS.
Discharge yourself before touching the device by contacting a grounded metal object first. Understand your
institution's ESD precautionary procedures prior to use.
• The UPS requires special precautions regarding electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and needs to be put
into service according to the EMC information provided in the Service Manual (Part No. 09-39-00454-00).
• Portable and mobile RF communications equipment can affect the UPS. Refer to the EMC information
provided in the Service Manual.
• The 200-006R is not intended for use in direct contact with the heart and is rated "BF".
