PLUMBING INSTALLATION
Follow all plumbing instructions carefully. This product
MUST be installed by a licensed plumber in accordance
with all applicable national, state, provincial and local
plumbing codes.
STEPS
1) Flush the existing water lines to eliminate all
plumbing or plastic paste and residue caused by any
previous brazing or soldering.
2) Turn off the main water supply.
3) Connect the T&P relief valve to the MODEL 1 outlet
located on the top of the unit.

MODEL 1 Inlet
TYPICAL INSTALLATION
• Read label on provided T&P valve before
beginning installation.
• No valve may be placed between the relief valve
and water tank.
• To avoid water damage, discharge line must be run
to a safe place of disposal and must pitch downward.
• Do not install a shut-off valve, plug or cap in the
valve discharge line.
• Follow local codes where they vary from these
instructions.
4) Attach the threaded flexible water heater connection hose
to the domestic hot water outlet of the T&P relief valve.
5) Using the 3/4" push-fit flexible water heater
connection hose, attach the cold water supply line to the
inlet of the MODEL 1 on the bottom of the unit. If
connecting directly to copper piping, 3/4" or 22 mm
push-fit connectors can be used at the inlet connection.

RECOMMENDS: Install a manual shut-off
valve (ball valve) on the inlet side of the MODEL 1 Water
Heater to provide a convenient shut-off point.
6) Turn on the main water supply.
7) Purge all air from the water lines and MODEL 1 by
opening a hot water demand source (hot faucet, shower,
etc.) Allow water to run though the water heater for at
least two to three minutes. Water from faucet will not be
hot at this point.
