1. About this manual...
This manual is designed as a quick reference to help you, the Installer, with the
installation process for the IRIS Touch alarm dialler. For further information on the
installation of the IRIS 200 range dialler, refer to the IRIS Touch 200 Range Dialler
Installation Manual at
http://www.chironsc.com.
2. Installing the IRIS Touch Dialler
Note: For installations using PIN alarm inputs see the PIN Alarms section in the IRIS
Touch 200 Range Dialler Installation Manual for additional information and for wiring
to relay outputs see the Relay Outputs section.
Do not apply power to the dialler until you are ready to start configuration.
1.
Remove the two case fixing screws from the front of the unit
unit.
2.
Remove the two PCB screws
3.
Position the back plate on the wall, drill three holes, put the cables through the
opening at the base of the plate [2], or via the 'knockouts' [3], and secure the
plate to the wall with the three screws supplied [4].
4.
Fit the dialler cable (grey) into the dialler input on the PCB
other end to the PSTN dialler output of the alarm panel. If the panel dialler has
only screw terminals, cut off the connector and use the inner pair of wires (the
polarity is not important).
5.
Fit the Ethernet cable (cream) into the Ethernet output on the PCB
connect the other end to the Ethernet socket allocated by the client. (Ethernet /
Ethernet & GPRS only).
6.
Fit the power cable (black) into the power output on the PCB [7]. DO NOT
connect until indicated to do so.
7.
The IRIS dialler comes with a GSM / GPRS antenna with flying lead attached to
the rear of the back plate. Connect this to the antenna socket on the PCB [8].
(GSM / Ethernet & GPRS only).
8.
Fit the springs securely to the tamper switches (2) [9].
9.
Fit the PCB to the back plate and secure with the two top screws only [10].
10. Fit the SIM card [11]. (GSM / Ethernet & GPRS only).
11 Fit the 18K sense resistor in parallel with the dialler output of the alarm panel.
This allows the IRIS dialler to monitor the integrity of the connection to the
alarm dialler.
12. Fit the front cover and secure with two screws [12].
