Connect cable terminals (9) to the
required cable. Then use the receiver
to search for the line, with the test
mode button (14) held down.
To achieve the maximum measuring
depth, set the receiver signal volume
as high as it will go (13).
To trace a single cable, connect the red terminal to

the cable to be traced and the black terminal to earth
(earthing conductor or shielding).
The signal is weak when connected to two signal lines
within a cable.

To locate LAN cables
Connect the RJ 45 adapter (8) to a
network socket. Then use the receiver
to search for the line, with the test
mode button (14) held down.

To avoid interference,
disconnect all network
plug connections.

To locate TV cables
Connect the TV-coax adapter (6) to a TV socket.
Then use the receiver to search for the line, with the test mode
button (14) held down.
To avoid interference, disconnect the building TV service.

TV sockets in particular may contain filters that have a ne-
gative effect on measurements. In this case, remove the TV
socket and perform the measurement directly at the cable.

To locate telephone cables
Connect the RJ 11 adapter (10) to a telephone socket.
Then use the receiver to search for the line, with the test mode
button (14) held down.

To avoid interference, disconnect the building
telephone service.
