IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE.
• DO NOT touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs
• To protect against electric shock, DO NOT immerse this appliance including power base
in water or any other liquid
• Close adult supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by or near children
• Unplug the power base cord from the power outlet when not in use, before
repositioning, and before cleaning. Allow to cool before cleaning the appliance
• DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance
malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return this appliance to the
nearest Oster® Authorized Service Center for examination, repair or adjustment
• The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may cause
hazards or injuries
• DO NOT use outdoors
• DO NOT let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces
• DO NOT place this appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven
• Ensure that the kettle is properly located on the power base before switching on
• Remove the kettle from power base before filling or pouring. DO NOT attempt to
remove the kettle from the power base until it is switched off, manually or automatically
• Use the kettle only with the power base supplied and vice-versa
• DO NOT use appliance for other than intended use
• Use on a hard, flat level surface only, to avoid interruption of air flow underneath
the appliance
• Extreme caution must be used when handling or moving kettle and pouring from kettle
containing boiling water
• Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the heating cycle
