MOTOR PROTECTOR
This vacuum
has a motor protector
by-
pass valve which automatically
opens
to
provide
cooling
air to the motor when a
clog prevents
the normal
flow of air to the
motor, if the by-pass
valve opens
to
prevent
motor overheating
and possible
damage
to the vacuum,
you will notice a
change
of sound
as air rushes through
the
valve opening.
Note:
Do not
block motor
protector.

Note: The motor protector
may open
when using attachments
or when cleaning
new carpet,
due to reduced
airflow caused
by the attachments
themselves
or by new
carpet fuzz filling the dust bin quickly.
PERFORMANCE
INDICATOR
When the unit is
running
with
normal
air flow,
the light on the
performance
indicator
is oE
The light comes
on whenever
th_
airflow becomes
blocked,
if that
occurs,
check the dust bin, clean or
replace
clogged
filters, and check other
possible
clog locations
shown
in CLOG
REMOVAL
(see page 19).

AGITATOR
THERMAL
PROTECTOR
This agitator has a thermal protector which
automatically
trips to protect the agitator
motor from overheating
If a clog prevents
the normal flow of air to the motor, the
thermal protector turns the motor off
automatically
to allow the motor to coot in
order to prevent possible damage to the
vacuum.
During this time the headlight
and

suction motor will remain on..
To correct
problem:

AGITATOR OVERLOAD
PROTECTOR
The agitator has built-in protection
against
motor damage should the agitator jam. If the
agitator slows down or stops, the agitator
overload protector shuts off the agitator. The
suction motor will continue to run_
To correct
problem:
Turn off and
unplug
vacu Um,
remove
obstruction,
then press
reset button.
