INSTRUCTION MANUAL
ALTIMETER /
BAROMETER DT690
FEATURES:
-
Altimeter from 0 to 5000
meters
Barometer from 540 hpa
-
to 1040 hpa
-
Quick and easy reading
Barometer adjustment
-
This is a compact and handy
Alitmeter with a high-precision
Barometer, a valuable
companion in such outdoor
activities as hiking, camping,
mountain-climbing, driving and
so on.
The barometer indicates
atmospheric pressure compared to
the sea-level.
The altimeter indicates an altitude
based on atmospheric pressure's
changes. Every 100 meters (328ft)
the altitude modifications reduce
the atmospheric pressure by about
12 hpa (0.36inch Hg).
This instrument bases the same
principle as an aeroplane applies in
measuring a navigating altitude.
Graduations for atmospheric
pressure and altitude are in
conformity to International
Navigation Standard Atmosphere.
MEASUREMENT OF ALTITUDE:
When your starting point is 0 meter
above sea level : before you start
rotate the outside ring to match the
indicator and 0m on altitude
graduations.
The indicator will show your
destination's altitude when you'll
arrive there.
When a starting point is not 0m
above sea level : First find out your
starting point's altitude with a map,
a land sign etc, then match the
altitude with the indicator by using
the rotation ring and you can start.
When you reach your destination,
the needle will indicate which
altitude you are.
* Generally, every 100 meters
(328ft) higher altitude lowers a
temperature by about 0, 65°C.

WEATHER Forecast:
Set the indicator on the orange line
between FINE
and RAINY
(3000 m or 9,800ft on altitude
graduations).
If the needle is moving
toward
, the weather
will get better.
If the indicator is moving
toward
, the weather
will be turning for the
worse.
If the indicator doesn't
move, the weather won't
change
The weather forecast can
be wrong under
atmospheric pressure's
sharp changes.
CAUTION:
Do not leave the unit in
direct sunlight or in a
high-temperature place
Please do not use under
the rain ;
This meter unit is a
precision-made
instrument, and please
do not take it apart or try
to remodel yourself. Also
be careful to not drop it or
shock it.
