HSDOM21 transmits signal to the control unit around every
40 minutes to indicate that the system is running; this is nec-
essary for the "supervision function" on the control unit.
2 - INSTALLATION
Warnings
• Locate the position and height for fixing HSDOM21, ac -
cording to the protection area required: refer to fig. 2.
• Carefully check the form of the area to be protected; if in
doubt, before making the final fixture, temporarily secure
the product and perform some tests and make adjust-
ments as required.
• The special design of the infrared sensor lens creates a
sensitive "curtain" area. If
the detector is positioned
vertically, the sensitive area
is horizontal (parallel to the
ground); if the detector is
positioned horizontally, the
sensitive area is vertical
(curtain protection with bar-
rier effect).
It is important to carefully evaluate these factors ac cording
to the area to be protected, in relation to possible insensi-
tivity to animals and considering the risk of rapid transit
through the area.
• If the product is to be installed in a corner, the directional
joint model HSA3 should be used (optional accessory):
Caution! – Use of the joint partly reduces efficiency of the
anti-removal protection, as the magnet remains on the
bracket. If the magnet is not used, the protection must be
inhibited by setting dip-switch 5 to ON.

01. Select the bracket fixture position, ensuring that it is
compatible with the overall dimensions of the detector: it
must be possible to access the release lever (fig. 3) with
sufficient clearances to connect and disconnect the
detector.
02. A – Wall-mounting: drill two holes for insertion of the
wall plugs and a hole for the magnet, used for the anti-
removal protection. Then secure the bracket by means
of the plugs (fig. 4-A);
02. B – Corner-mounting with directional joint mod.
HSA3: fix the joint to the wall (see relative instruction
manual), then secure the bracket to the joint as shown in
fig. 4-B;
03. Open the housing by loosening the 4 rear screws (fig. 5);
04. Set the control unit to learn HSDOM21 (see control unit
instruction manual);
05. Open the battery compartment as shown in fig. 6 and
remove the insulation tab keeping the batteries discon-
nected: HSDOM21 emits two series of 3 beeps and
starts programming in self-learning mode; this is con-
firmed by 1 beep emitted by the control unit (4 beeps
indicate that the device is already programmed).
06. Program the dip switches (fig. 7) and set the trimmers
(fig. 7) with reference to chapter 3 - Programming; then
perform the operation "Test" , see paragraph 3.1.
07. Close the housing (fig. 8) and connect the HSDOM21 to
the fixing bracket (fig. 9).
3 - PROGRAMMING
HSDOM21 is equipped with 5 dip-switches (fig. 7) which
enable programming of a number of operating parameters
