Hazardous Areas
The 64060625/30538111 intrinsically safe battery packs are designed to operate within an area
classified as Division 1, Zone 1 or Zone 21. An area is classified as Hazardous because of the
combustible or explosive atmospheres present in those areas. Before installation, check the data
plate of the battery pack to confirm it is marked with the approval for the environment in which it
will be used.
1.5.
Inspection and Contents Checklist
Verify the contents and inspect the package immediately upon delivery. If the shipping container is
damaged, check for internal damage and file a freight claim with the carrier if necessary. If the
container is not damaged, remove the battery pack from its protective package, noting how it was
packed, and inspect it for damage.
If re-shipping the battery pack is required, it is best to use the original shipping container. The
battery pack must be packed correctly to ensure its safe transportation.
The battery pack packaging should include the following items as shown in Figure 1-1. The
