Basic cake donuts recipe
Here is a recipe for donuts with a cake-like texture with low fat and cholesterol!
Makes approximately seven donuts.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 ½ tsp. baking powder
1 ½ tbsp. Wonderslim egg & shortening substitute.
1 tsp salt
½ cinnamon
½ cup second nature egg substitute.
1 ½ cup skim milk
* Can be substituted with two eggs well beaten (adds fat and cholesterol).
For Chocolate Flavored Donuts:
Add 2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa and adjust sugar to taste.
Preparation
1.
While the unit is preheating, mix all dry ingredients together.
2.
Add and mix wet ingredients with dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
3.
Lightly oil the surface of the donut maker (optional).
4.
Fill each donut hole with a heaping tablespoon of batter.
5.
Close unit and lock into place.
6.
Bake for 6-7 minutes or until donuts are browned.
7.
Remove donuts from the donut maker and reheat with the remaining batter if
there is enough left to make more donuts.
