PRIOR TO FITTING
1. Check that all the parts shown are included in the Kit.
2. Check the condition of each individual part.
3. Park the vehicle in a stable manner.
4. Take the key out of the ignition.
5. Protect all parts removed from the vehicle.
6. Be careful not to damage any vehicle parts during fitting.
Condition to assemble parts is technical experience.
If you not sure if you do a special work step, you should ask your next SUZUKI dealer.
STEP-BY-STEP FITTING GUIDE
The original wiring harness for VStorm 650/1000 models, are equipped with two connectors.
They are dedicated for Alarm System. The features of these two connectors are; one-way connector
and four ways connectors with plastic cover. They are located on the left side,
Photo 1: Fit the connector on the alarm's harness onto the control unit, insert the rubber hood into its
housing (1) and secure it using a Cable tie (2).

Clean the bottom of the control unit and stick down the Double-sided adhesive tape provided in the kit
(6).
Photo 2: Remove the main saddle (A), take off the back carrier (B), remove the two lateral rear side
fairings (C) and remove the registration plate support/rear lights assembly (D).
Photo 3: The alarm control unit will be accommodated in the rear storage compartment behind the tool
bag (E).
Photo 4: Use a cloth to clean the area where the control unit will be located. Take the protective backing
off the Double-sided adhesive tape and stick the control unit into position, pressing down onto the mouth
of the siren for at least 20/30 sec. (F). Turn the alarm harness and the antenna and secure them onto
the control unit using a Cable tie, as shown in photograph (G).
Photo 5: Place the connectors provided for connecting up the alarm (H) and (I) to the rear and take the
'closed' connector off the latter. Locate connector (L) for connection of the direction indicators.
Photo 6: Make the electrical connections between the alarm harness and the original wiring. Connect
the single pin connector and four-pin connector (M); also connect the six-pin connector on the rear lights
assembly (N).
Photo 7: Replace the registration plate support/rear lights assembly. Connect the six-pin connector for
the direction indicators. Stick the LED in place using the double sided adhesive tape (O) and press down
for at least 20/25 sec. Connect up the LED using the two-way connector and secure it to the pipe on
the rear chassis using a Cable tie (P).
Photo 8: For the DL1000: follow the instructions provided above and stick the LED down as shown in
photograph (Q).
Assemble all dismounted covers and parts in the opposite way of dismounting.
HOW TO ENABLE THE ALARM SYSTEM
Enabling the alarm system
The alarm must be initiated to make it operational. To do this, turn the ignition key OFF-ON-OFF.
The alarm system's LED (Photographs 7-8) will now flash, indicating how many remote controls have been
paired up to the system by flashing the appropriate number of times (two are supplied as standard).
The system is now operational. Please refer to the user manual, supplied with the Alarm Kit item code
990D0 – ALARM – 000 for further details and specifications.
